Uniform and PE Uniform

Uniform Expectations

All students are required to wear thfull academy uniform at all times, including blazers.

  • Purple blazer with school badge.
  • A plain white shirt with a stiff collar and a top button.
  • School tie.
  • Grey, plain, (nonbranded) V-neck school jumper (optional).
  • Grey school trousers (not leggings, tight fitted trousers or jeans).
  • Grey ‘A’ line school skirt knee-length (tight fitted skirts are not acceptable).
  • Religious headwear such as turbans, hijabs, niqabs etc may be worn. The colour selected should resemble the school colours; grey or purple. (scarves with tassels and embroidery are not acceptable).
  • Plain black or grey tights or socks (socks must be below the knee).
  • Plain black leather/leather looking flat shoes (not platforms, boots, trainers, or any sports/fashion branded footwear. Canvas shoes or pumps are not allowed).
  • Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
  • Hoodies and fashion jumpers are not permitted.

PE Kit

All students are required to wear the official Thistley Hough Academy PE kit for every PE lesson.

Students who arrive without the correct kit will be expected to borrow the school kit that is available (please note that correct sizing cannot be guaranteed).  If a student refuses kit, they will be required to go to Reflect.

Students take responsibility for bringing their full PE kit for all PE lessons in order to be prepared for learning to use our fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities.

 

Our Academy PE kit includes the following items:

  • Black T-Shirt with Academy logo
  • Black Quarter Zip top with Academy logo
  • Black shorts or skort
  • Black tracksuit bottoms
  • Black leggings
  • Socks
  • Trainers

All students can continue to wear the old-style PE kit with the Academy logo until the new kit is required.

All items are available to purchase from each of our uniform suppliers.

Equipment

Being prepared for learning is essential to success in school, and we expect students to take responsibility for ensuring they have all the equipment they need to be successful.

All students must bring the following items to school each day:

  • A school bag
  • A water bottle
  • The Thistley5 basic items:

 

To demonstrate readiness for learning, we expect all students to have the minimum of the Thistley 5 basic pieces of equipment:

  • A black pen
  • A green pen
  • A pencil
  • A ruler
  • A pencil case
