We were so excited to recently welcome over 100 children to our school to take part in a range of exciting lessons and activities.
The children who attended will all be starting with us this September, so this was a great opportunity for the children to take in their new school surroundings, while learning and meeting some of their new classmates.
The children participated in a range of activities in the following lessons:
In all of the lessons a variety of topics were covered to give the new year 7s a taster of high school life and give them a flying start to the school year.
During the literacy lessons the children explored a range of grammar rules, such as:
In Numeracy they learnt to master new data skills, including:
During their PE lessons the children took part in a range of fun sports like:
All of the lessons and activities were organised with the children in mind to help them make up for learning lost during the pandemic.
With the soon to be Year 7s receiving a breakfast and cooked lunch, all supplied for them by the dedicated canteen staff.
We also had the help of our fantastic Year 10 students who all took time out of their summer holidays to volunteer.
They made sure the children were well looked after and were happy to help out in all of the lessons.
We are so pleased with how successful the summer school was and can’t wait to see all the children start with us this September.
