Dear Parent/Carer

Important Information – Expectations

Further to contact via ClassCharts and text message, I write to clarify expectations regarding uniform for both full academy uniform and PE Kit.

Grey V-neck Jumpers

As we now move into the cooler months, all students are now expected to return to wearing their grey V-neck jumpers underneath their blazers. This forms part of the full academy uniform; however, you will remember that students were temporarily excused from wearing their jumpers during the warmer weather. We are still following Covid-19 guidance regarding ventilation around the Academy, and with windows open in classrooms, I am sure students will now feel more comfortable, and welcome wearing their jumpers again in school.

PE Lessons

Following further guidance, we will now be making changes for some year groups with regard to attending the Academy in PE Kit.

Students in Years 10 and 11 will now be expected to bring their PE Kit to school with them for their PE lessons, and will change before/after their lesson.

Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 are to continue to wear their full Thistley Hough Academy PE Kit to school on days when their PE lessons are scheduled.

The above changes have been made after very careful consideration of the timetables and lesson/option groups for each year group. This will be continually monitored and reviewed again as we move closer to half term. I will of course keep you informed if any further changes are to take place.

Please note that all students are to ensure that the full and correct Thistley Hough Academy PE Kit is worn; other items of fitness wear are not permitted. The PE Kit forms part of the Academy uniform and ensures that students are identifiable as Thistley Hough students and enables better safeguarding of students in and around the Academy. Should you need any assistance with any uniform items, please contact the Academy on 01782 883500.

As always, I would like to thank you for your continuing support.

Kind regards

Jayne Schofield
