I write to remind you that the half term holiday will commence on Monday 25th October 2021. The Academy will reopen to students on Monday 1st November.
Attendance and punctuality remain a priority as always, and we would urge you to remind your child of the importance of good attendance and arriving to school on time every day, and in good time for Roll Call at 8:20am. Uniform also remains an ongoing focus, and I am pleased to see our students attending in full school uniform every day. The full uniform includes a V-neck grey jumper, and it is compulsory that all students wear their jumper to school every day. Trainers of any type or design are not permitted.
As ever I would appreciate your continued support with regard to regular lateral flow testing. Please could you ensure that twice weekly testing continues on Sunday and Wednesday throughout the half-term break. In particular, testing at home prior to the students’ return on Monday 1st November will be key to starting back to school in the best and safest possible way.
Year 7 students have made an amazing start at Thistley Hough and I am immensely proud of all students throughout all year groups for their engagement with our Pride, Respect and Commitment ideal. Students are well presented, are respectful of others and the community, and have demonstrated dedication and commitment to their learning. They have adapted well to the newly introduced morning Roll Call and all expectations have been met by the vast majority of our students. Furthermore, the re-introduction of face coverings, as we continue to face some challenging circumstances, has been dealt with by all students in a mature and responsible way, as ever.
As always, we will remain in contact with all parents/carers should there be any further changes in government guidelines as we continue to navigate through the remainder of this unusual time. In the meantime, I would like to wish you a pleasant half term break and to thank you all for your continued support for our Academy.
