Important dates and information


I would like to inform you that the summer term will end at 2:00pm on Friday 19th July. Students will be dismissed directly following our full academy assembly, where we will be celebrating the achievements and successes of our students over the past year.


Please note that on Friday 19th July, ALL students must be off the Academy site by 2:00pm.


The new academic year will commence for students on Wednesday 4th September 2019 as below:

  • New Year 7 students only  – 8:40am
  • Students in Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 – 10:00am


Term dates, INSET Days and the times of the day are outlined overleaf for your convenience, along with uniform, basic equipment and mobile phone information.


May I take this opportunity to thank you for your support for our academy over the past year, and to wish you all a pleasant and restful summer break.

INSET Days 2019 – 2020

Students are required to wear full academy uniform at all times, including blazers and school jumpers.

Please note that this now includes a grey school jumper for all students.

  • Purple blazer with school badge.
  • A plain white shirt with stiff collar and a top button.
  • School tie.
  • Grey School Jumper
  • Grey school trousers (not leggings, tight fitted trousers or jeans)
  • Grey ‘A’ line school skirt – Knee length (tight fitted skirts are not acceptable)
  • A plain grey headscarf may be worn (tassels and embroidery are not acceptable)
  • Plain black tights or socks (socks must be below the knee)
  • Plain black leather/leather looking shoes (not platforms, boots, trainers or any sports/fashion branded footwear. Canvas shoes or pumps are not allowed)
  • Pupils are required to attend school with a hairstyle appropriate to the uniform policy. Hair colour should look natural so there should be no noticeably dyed hair or extreme styles.
  • Facial piercings and tattoos are not allowed.
  • Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
  • Hooded tops and fashion jumpers are not permitted.

  • Small ear studs may be worn, with a watch or a ring. No other facial piercings are allowed


 Basic Equipment

Students need to be prepared for learning by attending the Academy with the correct basic equipment. This ensures that lessons can begin swiftly and without delay. As such, students are required to bring the following equipment:

  • School Bag
  • Black or blue ballpoint pen
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Rubber
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Reading book



 Mobile Phones

The use of mobile phones by students is strictly prohibited at the Academy and as such, students are not permitted to use mobile phones during the Academy day. Any mobile phones brought onto Academy premises are done so at the student’s own risk and the Academy will not accept responsibility or liability for loss of, or damage to mobile phones brought onto the site. Mobile phones should be switched off and out of sight at all times. Any student seen with, or seen using a mobile phone whilst on the Academy premises will have their phone confiscated until a parent/carer is, (by prior arrangement), able to collect it.


Any student who urgently requires the use of a phone during the Academy day, will be allowed to use the Academy phone, dependent upon the circumstances. Likewise, should you need to contact your child in an emergency, please use the Academy main contact number.
