I am sure you are all aware of our Road Safety Campaign #cutout, which was launched back in May of this year. We were exceptionally pleased that this was highlighted by the BBC both locally and nationally, and was very much supported by students, parents/carers, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Staffordshire Police and the local community.
This year we are continuing to keep our campaign for road safety very much in operation, and I wish to thank the vast majority of you for your cooperation with regard to the use of the lower car park at the start and the end of the day. We appreciate that there are times when this area is particularly busy and would ask that extra caution and consideration is taken when using this zone. Due to the high volume of cars, we are looking to free up more parking spaces very soon. You will note that the car park is now managed by staff helping with the flow of traffic at the end of the school day, and would ask for your patience to assist us with these busy times of the day.
I have to reiterate the importance of not causing an obstruction by illegal or inconsiderate parking on Thistley Hough or Newcastle Lane, and remind all parents/carers that the drop-off/pick up area, which is accessible from the Newcastle Lane entrance, should be used when dropping off and collecting students, to and from the Academy.
Thank you for supporting us in ensuring the safety and well being of the students of our academy.
