Further to our previous correspondence, I write with continued concern that a number of our students are still not exercising caution when crossing the roads around the Academy on their journeys to and from school.
Thistley Hough Academy continues to work closely with the Local Authority and Councillors to address ongoing concerns with regard to road safety around the Academy. The wellbeing of our students is paramount, and we are committed to ensuring that we do all we can to educate them with regard to keeping themselves safe when crossing the road. I am however, disappointed that a number of parents/carers are continuing to park on the pedestrian crossing and other restricted areas outside of the Academy.
As a result we will now be launching our own road safety initiative: #Cutout Road Safety Campaign 2018. This campaign will launch on Thursday 10thMay 2018 and will be prominent throughout the local area. We would appreciate your support in ensuring that we continue to make our roads as safe as possible.
In order to gain an understanding of the current travel provision for our students and to help us understand how we can continue to make your journeys as safe as possible, we have an online survey that we would like you to complete. You can find a link to the survey here: Thistley Hough Academy – Road Safety Campaign (PRE).
Whilst I am thankful to the vast majority of parents/carers who adhere to the restrictions in place, I again ask that all parents/carers use the lower car park drop off zone to ensure that we are all doing all that we can to ensure the safety of your children.
Thank you for your continued support.
